We heart Alamo Square. Call the neighborhood what you want- Alamo, Nopa or Western Addition, but it’s all love for us. We have Workshop here, we live here and we are so happy to have the Indie Mart back here and right when we lose Dolores Park in its full glory for the end of the Summer:) The Alamo Square Flea Market has been bringing you treasures, estate merchandise, vintage, antiques and even a few fun, oddball garage sales in the mix for 27 years. Ya heard! 27 years. So we decided to merge a little vintage with some indie and throw a party.

Saturday August 21st, we will be bringing you the Alamo Square Flea & Indie Mart for the best of both worlds, DIY, vintage inspired and so much more. There will be family friendly stations, you can bring your pups, there will be dogs for adoption, food and a sunshiney park to hang in. Workshop will be offering DIY activities for the whole family and adults from terrariums to crafts to cookie decorating. This will be a really fun merge and a great celebration of our hood, the history here & all the fun people here.

To be a vendor, there are two paths. For antique/ estate style vendors, apply with the Flea Market at www.alamosq.org/flea. To apply as an Indie Mart vendor for new items, vintage or anything in that realm, apply here. We are looking for people with vintage or vintage inspired themes to their designs, rad processes, imagery that is vintage in theme, cool processes, customization, rebuilt and a few new vendors with indie goods too! For the IndieMart side, spaces are assigned as we closed down one street and all spaces are good spaces with equal traffic & numerous entrances & excitement on every end. It is a small block lining the park and all it’s activities, tourists & fun. Options for spaces:

Full 12 foot by 5 foot spaces are $50, yes, you heard us, $50 and there is a $5 service fee.
Smaller 6ft spaces are $30.
There also are 12ft garage sale spaces on Fulton & Hayes that are on a sharp hill for $25, these are not in the main area but super affordable!

We prefer no sharing and if you do share, you must both apply and be approved. Few things: NO POWER. SPACES ARE ON THE STREET. TABLE & CHAIR RENTALS WILL BE AVAILABLE. IT DOES GET WINDY. EARLY AM LOAD IN! NO ALCOHOL/ BAR/ ETC. Applications are open now. Git it!

The Indie Mart is hitting the street again Sunday July 18th, from 12-6pm. We got over 90 vendors bringing you the best makers, designers, vintage, handmade unique goodies, art, baked treats and much more. Tons of interactive vendors offering customization or showing you how it’s made. About a third of our vendors are new, keeping to our promise of new vendors from all over Cali & SF.

We also have more DIY! Thanks to all of you who loved up on our woodland creature terrariums. This Indie Mart you can make your own terrarium, make pie in a jar to take home & bake OR you can sew up & create your own Sock Monster with help from WorkshopSF. We also got Broke Ass Crafts with Broke Ass Stuart with all kinds of fun dirt cheap crafts to make. San Franpsycho live printing out their badass milktruck. Besides our usual standby’s on stiff drinks, cheap beers & fresh BBQ food from thee Parkside… We got a life size terrarium where you can hang out, drink some beers & kick it with the gnomes, deer and relax. PBR’s forest right next to it, where you can hang out and get some sweet PBR giveaways..did someone say a tallboy sleeping bag?! Puppies & kittens for adoption from WonderDog. Heavy Metal Aerobics pumping at 3pm for all to join in (SF Weekly & 7×7 Best of SF winner). Photobooth by Magnolia Photo Booth. All lady DJ’s outside all day playing hella rock & roll. Bike parking & all kinds of fun!

Indie Mart Design & DIY Street Fair: 3rd Anniversary JUNE 6TH, 12-6PM

The Indie Mart is back for our first throw down of the year and our 3rd anniversary party. I cant believe this shit was in my yard 3 years ago. CRAZY!We have our best group of vendors ever! We personally recruited over 30 new to Indie Mart vendors that have never shown at SF shows before. Over 100 vendors bringing you the best makers, designers, vintage, handmade unique goodies, art, baked treats and much more. Tons of interactive vendors offering customization or showing you how it’s made. Besides our usual standby’s on stiff drinks, cheap beers & fresh BBQ food from thee Parkside…we’ve also got a giant demo station brought to you by our lil DIY spot, Workshop (www.workshopsf.org) that’ll feature demos every hour, on the hour. San Franpsycho live printing out their badass milktruck. A DIY build your own terrarium station from Workshop (while supplies last). PBR giveaways. Puppies & kittens for adoption from WonderDog. hey there peeps! we miss you. we miss the indie marts! since workshop is booming with fun diy classes and teaching you all how to make handmade, we are taking a little time off from selling it. we happily will be back for all outdoor indie marts soon. with more fun, more bands, more interactive involvement including our friends over at chronicle books bringing us authors! workshop bringing us all kinds of demos all day long! more live customizing and creating! more art! more beer! more everything you love!

sign ups will open for all summer indie marts this week. please keep posted to your email and we’ll let you know. changes this year for vendors include being able to select your own spot! whoah, yes. we will leave an area in the front for vendors that i select 2 weeks before the event that are new, the most interesting or offering the most interactive booths- you can select your space, but i will bump folks into these rad spots, then freeing up your space for waitlisted vendors. online applications will open up anyday now, so get ready with your great ideas:)
