March 30th Indie Mart vendor applications
Mission Indie-Mart vendor application & info
Sunday March 30th, 12-5pm
The Mission Indie-Mart has quickly grown from an underground backyard shopping party into a popular monthly event featuring a tantalizing combination of shopping, music, and food. Catering to the style-conscious hipster, this event showcases truly independent local designers, offering everything from one of a kind fashions and reconstructed vintage to offbeat crafts, handmade jewelry and fun antiques. Enjoy cheap beer, hot plates, local DJs and the cream of the crop of SF’s indie designer scene.

We aim to keep prices fair and offer a diverse mix of interesting vendors that cater to MEN and WOMEN, rotating in a few new designers every month to keep it fresh. We strongly encourage you to bring in new items all the time, as we will constantly be mixing things up to keep the event fresh and fun. Important: You are responsible for bringing your own table and chairs.
Venue: The event will be taking place at 12 Galaxies Bar on Mission by 22nd Street. It is a favorite local venue that represents the Mission and keeps our laid back shopping party vibe, with drinks and food. We will be supplying additional lighting at the venue but I would also recommend bringing light colored tablecloths & table accessories so your items stand out. I always recommend vendors bring a small kit with paper, pens, tape, scissors and anything you may need.
Set-up & Tear down: Set up begins at 11am and the event opens at 12 noon. You can load out front on Mission Street and there is a public parking garage located nearby on 21st & Bartlett (between Mission & Valencia). On Sunday morning you should not have much trouble finding parking and meters are free in many areas (please be sure to check the signs). There is a parking lot a block and a half on Mission between 19th & 20th. It is a 3 minute walk to the bar. Tear down begins at 5pm and we need to have the space completely evacuated and clean by 6pm for evening shows and bands. You are responsible for cleaning up your area and we will have trash cans available. DOORS do not open until 11am.
Entertainment: We also have local DJ’s spinning a great mix of indie, rock & roll, electro-pop & soul from Lovedust and Sarah. For March we ARE bringing back food since we are now out of rain season.
Promotions: This event is all about local design and not surprisingly, word of mouth is our greatest asset. We encourage all vendors to invite friends and spread the word via myspace, yelp and going.com to promote yourself and the event. it is how we have become successful and keeps the local, independent feeling. I do send out digital fliers you can print out and also will be sending out fliers to all vendors signed up by March 5th to your home address. Please carry some with you to pass out at work, your local coffeeshop, your favorite bar, wherever they will have an impact! It means more customers for you and a successful event for all!
We also will be working traditional promotion channels and will be promoting through myspace, yelp, sf station, the Guardian, going.com, craftster.org, mymy.com. We are also currently in the midst of securing sponsors for this event. If you have any additional contacts or ideas that can help- please let us know!
March sponsorship: We are offering small business sponsorships for March, for $120. you get a secured regualr sized space in the front, downstairs. You get your logo printed on the flier and headlining as an event sponsor.
Swag Bags: We are having Indie Mart cotton tote bags available for sale at the event. As well as raffling off 25 goodie bags at the event. We are excepting donations for the bag, which gets you free press and a happy Indie Mart attendee some fun freebies! Please email me if interested, all donations will need to be collected by March 21st.
